Guidelines & Deadlines
Authors of papers and artworks accepted for the symposium will be given the opportunity to be published and/or documented either as part of the proceedings catalogue or digital archive. A selection of papers will also be chosen for the special issue.
The deadline for final papers for publication is July 15th, 2022. You must use the templates provided below to prepare your paper.

Please submit a summary proposal of up to 500 words in PDF form with images and links to video and audio work embedded within the document. For long papers, this should be in the form of an abstract.
Authors of all paper proposals selected will be invited to submit a completed paper for presentation in the symposium. Artists selected for exhibition, performance, or demonstration will be asked to submit a detailed plan at a later date, in order to allow time for development. Participants chosen for panel discussions and workshops will also be asked to submit a detailed outline of the event closer to the time of the symposium.
Upon registration, participants will be asked to pay a participation fee, covering catering for the two days.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide funding for participation travel and accommodation.
All files referenced here can also be downloaded from the file list below. It is very important that you read and follow the specific symposium author guidelines. Full paper presenters and “paper & demo” presenters should prepare a full 4-8 page paper using the full paper template.
Presenters submitting a short paper, alongside an installation, performance, panel discussion or demonstration should prepare a 1-3 page paper using the short paper template.
Authors are advised to take account of the reviewers’ comments, which will be sent via the EasyChair system after the proposal submission, before the final submission for publication. Accepted papers will be edited before publication, but please make sure that grammar and spelling are correct, as it is not possible for the editors to do extensive editing and your paper may be rejected for this reason.
Please submit a “ZIP” file including the following three files:
Your Word paper named “nn_Lastname.docx” where “nn” is your Easychair paper number and “Lastname” is the last name of the main author.
A matching PDF version of paper named “nn_Lastname.pdf” for checking by the editors.
Papers will be reviewed by the editors soon after the submission deadline and a final decision made to publish or not. Occasionally it may not be possible to publish a paper, for a variety of reasons, including incorrect formatting. If so, we will still very much welcome a presentation at the conference.
